Services

Four practice areas, applied to one type of company.

We do a small number of things, and we do them with senior staffing, primary research, and a written deliverable. Below is the work we are best known for.

01 / Research

Independent Market Research

We produce sector studies, voice-of-customer programs, competitive landscapes, and primary-source market sizing for boards and management teams making consequential commercial decisions. Our research is designed to be referenced in an investment committee memo or a board pre-read — not skimmed and discarded.

  • Sector and sub-sector deep dives
  • Voice-of-customer (VoC) programs
  • Competitive landscape mapping
  • Primary-source market sizing
  • Installed-base and renewal analysis
  • Win/loss and churn diagnostics
  • Pricing and willingness-to-pay studies
  • Regulatory and standards benchmarking
02 / Growth

Growth & Market-Entry Advisory

We help companies enter new markets — geographies, adjacencies, channels, segments — with the discipline that the move actually requires. Most growth failures we have observed across two decades came from a defensible product entering an end-market it did not understand. The Foundry's work is to make sure that does not happen again.

  • New-product and adjacency entry
  • Geographic expansion (US ↔ EU ↔ APAC)
  • Channel and partner strategy
  • Pricing architecture and discount discipline
  • Go-to-market design for technical products
  • Service-attach and recurring-revenue strategy
  • Bolt-on and partnership target identification
  • Strategic-account development programs
03 / Operations

Operational Value Creation

Hands-on engagements with management teams in the operating seat. We bring operators — not slide-makers — to work alongside Sales, Marketing, Service, and Operations leaders. Engagements are typically eight to twelve weeks, with weekly working sessions and tangible artifacts the company keeps long after we are gone.

  • Commercial operations and CRM hygiene
  • Sales effectiveness and territory design
  • Service and aftermarket monetization
  • Pricing and quote-to-order discipline
  • Organization design and span-of-control
  • Compensation and incentive architecture
  • Customer-success and renewal motion
  • KPI and operating-cadence design
04 / Counsel

Executive & Board Advisory

A discreet sounding board for CEOs, founders, and board chairs. These engagements are partner-only and structured around the leader's calendar. We are useful at strategic inflection points — a new five-year plan, a leadership transition, a board-level disagreement — and at the routine moments in between when an experienced operator is the most valuable thing a CEO can have on call.

  • CEO sounding-board engagements
  • Strategic planning facilitation
  • Board pre-read and meeting design
  • Independent committee support
  • Succession and management evaluation
  • Family-owned business counsel
  • First-100-days planning
  • Investor- and lender-readiness reviews
What we don't do

Clarity about scope is a form of respect.

We do not advise on transactions, raise capital, or earn success fees. We do not provide legal, tax, accounting, audit, or regulatory advice. We do not pursue retainers. We do not staff with junior consultants and a deck template. We do not work with companies whose products or services we cannot describe in a paragraph.

For each of those, we know firms that do them very well, and we are glad to refer.
